A couple living in London, Javier from Spain and Claudia from Bolivia, enjoyed lunch with their Buddy Tadashi at the famous "Oshio Nagomi branch" on Tsukishima Monja Street. Monjayaki is the soul food of Tokyo's downtown area.
They started with a "kanpai!" with draft beer, and ordered edamame, kimchi, and stewed motsu as appetizers.
Next, they ordered mentaiko mochi monjayaki. First, they had the restaurant staff cook it for them to learn the procedure.
Then, they cooked the second monjayaki of seafood together themselves.
Not only eating but also cooking it themselves is part of the charm of monjayaki.
